We’re looking for a dynamic Senior Communications Advisor to join our Corporate Communications and belairdirect team!
About the role
In this role, you will support the direct-to-consumer business line working with the belairdirect brand, as part of Intact Financial Corporation’s Corporate Communications team. This is a full-service communications team of experts that support the business objectives and strategic roadmap.
The successful candidate will report to the Director of Communications, Direct Distribution.
The Senior Communications Advisor is responsible for supporting the national belairdirect Communications team in planning and implementing a wide range of integrated communications projects and initiatives, including internal events, employee communications, change management, video content, and visual storytelling.
What you’ll do here:
Act as the senior communication lead on various projects by collaborating with business stakeholders.
Provide guidance on internal communication approaches, ensuring consistency and message alignment. Assess the needs of each project, secure buy-in, develop plans, measure impact, and iterate for continuous improvement.
Collaborate with the team on strategic communications planning while leading the implementation of integrated communication plans that align with the organization’s goals and vision.
Act as a trusted advisor to develop strong relationships with internal business partners and colleagues at all levels. Work closely with senior leaders to develop strong communications plans to support business priorities and engagement action plans. Develop and maintain strategic communications and implement integrated communication plans.
Showcase that natural storytelling ability across different communication channels and mediums. Use your stellar writing and creative skills to develop compelling and engaging communications.
Oversee production and distribution of communication materials. Draft, edit, and proofread a wide range of content to support employee engagement and change management, including intranet articles, internal announcements, presentations, speaking notes, and newsletters.
Lead event planning and execution including employee and manager townhalls.
Provide overall project management to communication initiatives to ensure timely and effective execution.
What you bring to the table:
Bachelor's degree in communications/journalism/public relations, or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, marketing, external communications or public relations.
Experience in developing strategic communications plans.
Strong communications and planning skills, a consultative approach, impeccable attention to detail and a passion for creative writing are essential.
Ability to challenge the status-quo and push us to do things differently.
Brings creativity to communications with strong storytelling skills.
Strong ability to influence and build relationships with internal and external partners.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and expectations.
Highly organized and able to manage workflow efficiently with autonomy and flexibility.
Takes initiative, is flexible and adapts easily to change. Has a can-do attitude and solutions-oriented approach to everything you do.
Excellent command of English (spoken and written) and strong writing skills.
Proficient in the Microsoft Office software suite.
Knowledge of the tools in the Adobe Creative software suite, especially Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
No Canadian work experience required, but must have authorization to work in Canada.
