About the role
We’re looking for a Senior Business Advisor to join our growing team!
As a data driven Senior Business Advisor you will play an important role in enhancing our business process and operational effectiveness. In this dynamic role, you'll collaborate closely with Claims West leadership to analyze data, monitor performance, and propose innovative solutions that boost claims performance.
We're looking for a data-driven expert who excels at transforming complex data into compelling stories and strategic recommendations. Use your analytical prowess and creative thinking to influence key business decisions and drive our organization's success
What you'll do here:
Analyze business and operational challenges, conducting independent and comprehensive data analysis of Claims West results, and recommend data-driven solutions to business leaders to enhance performance and effectiveness
Combine and analyze data elements from various sources to monitor claims data, identify trends, surface root causes of problems, and display information in various ways to uncover issues and potential solutions
Create and present clear, concise, and persuasive data-driven narratives tailored to diverse audiences, including executive leadership, using tools like PowerPoint to ensure effective communication of complex insights
Provide strategic recommendations and insights through executive-level presentations to senior leadership for informed decision-making
Lead projects with stakeholders across the Claims West operation to enhance efficiency and address operational challenges, while supporting the business in effective execution and change management
Engage and collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement, find root causes of issues, and determine solutions. Challenge the status quo. Recommend improvements and implement approved modifications
Contribute to the creation of detailed business plans and business cases
Contribute actively to the team’s work by considering Claims West priorities. Mentor and coach peers
Ownership of recurrent reports, including creation, development, modification, and production of reports in Excel, Power BI and other tools through solid programming skills for data extraction and manipulation
Support ad hoc data/reports creation
Act as a data resource to support day-to-day operations
Analyze KPIs, review existing reports, and provide detailed analysis with commentary and trends for the Claims West leadership team
Leverage insights on industry trends, data analytics advancements, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge and drive continuous organizational improvement
May participate in the design and establishment of new database environments
What you bring to the role:
Post Secondary education in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Actuarial studies or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with developing operational reporting and leading moderately complex analyses
Minimum 5-years professional experience in reporting and data analysis
Advanced using Microsoft Office, PowerPoint & Excel (Power Query)
Communication: Strong experience in communicating technical analyses clearly
Experience with presenting complex information and expertise to senior leadership and executives
Strong proficiency with programming languages and data management (Power BI, SAS, SQL, Python, VBA, PowerApps)
Competencies: adaptability, innovative, analytical, decision making, critical thinking, clear communication, planning and organizing, team oriented
Ability to plan and execute on projects
Self-driven, autonomous, and solution-oriented
No Canadian work experience required but must have authorization to work in Canada

Salary of the successful candidate will typically be positioned between the following range, taking into consideration a number of factors including prior experience, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, location and internal equity:
$81,800.00 - $122,800.00What we offer
