Salary range (but not limited to):

128,300 - 156,800

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

Located in downtown Montreal, we are a rapidly growing team of people who are passionate about innovation and leading-edge technologies. We focus on exploiting data to innovate and transform the insurance sector to make life easier for our customers.

We are hiring an Architecture Practice Lead to evolve a scalable architecture practice and governance model and provide strategic oversight for the end-to-end design of AI and data products. You will play a pivotal role in empowering teams and scaling AI capabilities to build a best-in-class AI-driven architecture practice.

What you'll do here: 

  • Lead and evolve a lean, fit-for-purpose architecture practice and governance model across multiple solution architecture teams supporting end-to-end AI and Data products designs.

  • Ensure architecture practices align with enterprise strategy, standards, and cross-portfolio initiatives.

  • Establish best practices for documenting, publishing, and maintaining architecture artefacts (ex. blueprints, patterns, strategies, technology choice rationale).

  • Define the AI strategy and roadmap to accelerate the overall architecture practice (ex. agent-based automated reviews, artifact generation, architecture auditing) and ensure adoption.

  • Promote, manage and curate reusable architecture patterns and decision records to accelerate consistent, resilient, compliant delivery.

  • Lead weekly peer and structured design reviews to validate functional and non-functional requirements (ex. performance, scalability, security/privacy, cost, usability).

  • Define and report architecture KPIs/scorecards, ensuring traceability from principles to implemented solutions (ex. cycle time, reuse, technical debt, reference architecture adherence).

What you bring to the table: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent experience).

  • 15+ years software development experience applying cloud, security, and DevOps/MLOps practices. 

  • 10+ years as Solution and/or Application Architect defining target architectures and implementation strategies for complex AI and data initiatives (ex. transition states, viewpoints, patterns, decisions, TCO, NFRs). 

  • Strong knowledge of AI, data product and data engineering lifecycles (ex. anonymization, observability, model training/serving architectures, API design, etc.). 

  • Experience designing with modern platforms at scale (ex. AWS/GCP, Databricks, Snowflake). 

  • Experience designing generative AI and / or agentic solutions – an asset.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills to facilitate decisions and drive consensus.

  • Excellent communicator.

  • Bilingual (French and English): Need to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country. 

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
