About the role

Are you a seasoned construction professional seeking a rewarding position where you can apply your expertise in a less physically demanding role? Join our expanding team as a Property Construction Appraiser, Large Loss , and take advantage of an opportunity that combines fieldwork with office-based tasks for an optimal work-life balance.

Location: Vancouver or surrounding areas (Supporting the Vancouver region)

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection and Estimation:

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of significant building damage.
  • Determine the cause of losses and provide precise cost estimates for restoration, repair, or replacement.
  • Accurately establish rebuilding costs with attention to detail.

Technical Support and Negotiation:

  • Provide your construction expertise to assist internal and external claims adjusters.
  • Negotiate with contractors to finalize restoration cost agreements.
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding repair and restoration quality.

Auditing and Compliance:

  • Audit contractor/restorer estimates and work to ensure compliance with our standards and policies.
  • Address issues related to work quality, costs, and restoration methods.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Extensive background in construction, building restoration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in large loss estimation and damage assessment.
  • Strong technical understanding of building structures and restoration processes.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complaints and uphold high-quality standards.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to provide training and technical support to team members.

Salary of the successful candidate will typically be positioned between the following range, taking into consideration a number of factors including prior experience, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, location and internal equity:

$70,200.00 - $105,200.00
