Salary range (but not limited to):

94,200 - 115,200

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

As a Property Claims Specialist, you will work with customers who have experienced a loss to their personal property, helping them through the claims process. Working with vendors, field adjusters, and other experts, you will demonstrate empathy, strong listening skills, business acumen, and organizational effectiveness as you manage a wide variety of claims through completion.

What you’ll do here:

  • Analyze information gathered, interpret insurance policy wordings, determine coverage, and assess damage on complex residential total losses or complex scope-and-repair claims.
  • Develop an action plan to ensure all aspects of the claim are addressed.
  • Manage all financial components of the claim, including setting reserves and ensuring prompt and equitable settlements in line with Intact’s policies and standards.
  • Ensure clear and concise information and direction are provided to vendors.
  • Work with experts, including consultants, appraisers, engineers, and others, to help drive progress throughout the claim.
  • Provide superior customer service to external and internal customers, and answer queries related to the claims process.
  • Keep up-to-date on Intact’s insurance products, appraisal and investigation techniques, and service standards.

What you bring to the table:

  • 8+ years of property claims-handling experience, including major-loss residential files; catastrophe experience is an asset.
  • Adaptable and agile in a rapidly evolving business.
  • A passion for customer service with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • A forward-thinker who can foster new ideas.
  • Superior organizational skills and results-driven.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict-management skills.
  • Ability to learn and work effectively in a hybrid environment
