Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role
This temporary Paralegal role supports the Risk Management Services team at Intact Public Entities. Our team works directly with municipalities and community service organizations across Canada, providing practical guidance to help them understand and manage risk. The role involves reviewing contracts, researching legislation and case law that affect our clients, and helping develop resources and educational material used by both our clients and internal teams. It’s a hands-on role for someone interested in applying legal training in the insurance and public sector risk management space.
This position is full-time temporary opportunity for 16-18 months.
What you’ll do here:
Reviewing, identifying, and assessing risk as well as providing Risk Management advice to our client base on a variety of contracts.
Drafting contract templates.
Monitoring and reviewing legislative changes that can impact our client base.
Researching and writing articles on insurance claims, legislative changes, and case briefs on recent legal decisions.
Assisting our risk analysts on policy & procedural reviews.
Preparing and presenting educational material to internal staff and external clients.
Assisting underwriting in legal and legislative research
What you bring to the table:
Minimum 3-years experience in legal, insurance or risk management positions that have required direct client contact
Completion or working towards RIBO
Paralegal License - is required
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, as well as strong public speaking skills
Strong research and analytical skills
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
