About the role

Intact Lab is looking for a Manager, Design System & Accessibility. You will lead a team of UX/UI designers who nourish a multi-brand Design System to accelerate the work of other developers and designers across the company. You will also lead accessibility specialists who work towards bringing insurance to everyone by collaborating with our product and design partners. 

What you'll do here:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of UX/UI Designers and Accessibility Specialists.
  • Educate and influence partners to encourage the adoption and expansion of the Design System within the organization.
  • Oversee the usage of UI elements, including standardized components, assets, and UX patterns on both web and mobile applications.
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of design system documentation, including training materials and onboarding processes.
  • Direct accessibility audits for products and advocate for best practices across business units.
  • Support the white labelling strategy by delivering essential components for our multi-brand product initiatives, focusing on functionality and accessibility.
  • Foster relationships with leadership that facilitate achieving customer-centric outcomes emphasizing on accessibility and design system adoption.
  • Collaborate closely with the creative studio team to nourish and build a strong community of design practices.

What you bring to the table:

  • Graduate degree in design, marketing, software development, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in strategy, design, and/or digital domains.
  • At least 3 years of team management experience.
  • At least 3 years of practical experience with Design Systems.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Accessibility standards.
  • Curious, bold, empathetic, and strategic thinker.
  • Strong communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and influential capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Dedicated focus on customer service.
  • Passion for working in an inspiring and creative environment with an emphasis on fun.
  • Bilingual (French and English): Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
