Salary range (but not limited to):

94,200 - 115,200

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

12%

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Data engineering team. We are a data team within Intact Lab building data pipeline to enable faster data to access for data scientist, software engineers and business analysts.

In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial role gathering requirement for data engineers and the product owner. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements, database schema and tables, help derive from that requirement and definition of done for user story.

 

What you'll do here: 

• Collaborate with various departments to increase the use of data analytic tools, reducing manual processes and enhancing the reliability of decision-making and compliance activities.

• Collect, process, and analyze data using programming languages such as SQL or Python.

• Create clear and informative data visualizations using tools like Power BI.

• Conduct data cleaning and preprocessing to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

• Translate complex data findings into a compelling narrative for non-technical stakeholders.

• Present insights and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.

• Collaborate with other analysts and business professionals to support data-driven decision-making.

• Stay updated with the latest trends and tools in data analytics.

What you bring to the table: 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.

• Proven experience (5+ years) as a Data Analyst or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL or basic Python.

• Strong understanding of statistical methods and their applications.

• Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, or equivalent.

• Knowledge of database systems and experience with querying and managing databases.

• Familiarity in data focus working environment and cloud-based services (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.

• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

• Excellent data storytelling and presentation skills.

• Ability to work well in teams and collaborate with cross-functional departments.

• Strong time management and adaptability skills.

• A natural curiosity and eagerness to learn and stay updated with industry trends.

• For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.

• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the insurance or banking industry

• Understanding of the context of usage of data for AI and GENAI purposes.
