About the role
Challenging Opportunity in the Contact Billing Program. Join us in deploying a billing system across all Intact companies and provinces. We are seeking a Java/Guidewire Developer to assist in implementing Intact's new billing platform, focused on the Guidewire Billing Center. The position is for the IT Billing Development team, offering a hybrid work mode with in-office presence required 2 days per week, for a total of 35 hours per week.
Location: St-Hyacinthe office, Quebec.
What You Will Do:
Enhance and/or develop features to meet user needs by designing solutions, solving problems, producing work estimates, programming, testing, debugging, and documenting.
Develop Java applications and services in an Agile environment.
Engage in the developer community, contribute to continuous improvement, and promote best practices.
Collaborate with QA and business analysts.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java development.
Assets:
Guidewire certifications.
Experience with the SAAS version of Guidewire.
Experience in Guidewire version migration.
Experience with Guidewire Billing Center.
Experience with Spring Boot.
Experience with REST APIs.
Experience with Cucumber and JMeter.
Experience with Git.
Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.
Experience integrating automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.
Experience in Agile development.
Knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry.
Understanding of billing/collections domain.
Desired Skills:

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good organizational skills and ability to synthesize information.
For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
