Salary range (but not limited to):

149,600 - 182,800

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

Director, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

Reporting to the SVP, Financial Performance and partnering closely with senior leadership, the successful candidate will lead the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function at IFC - both at the consolidated level and for its Canadian operations. The role is responsible for planning, forecasting, and underwriting insight, and manages a team of 6 finance and accounting professionals, including 2 managers.

Key responsibilities:

· Lead the annual financial planning (mid-term planning) and target-setting processes to deliver earnings growth and ROE outperformance.

· Provide weekly forecasts and financial updates to senior leadership (IFC Operating Committee) to review performance, surface issues, and enable timely decision-making.

· Partner with business leaders and finance/accounting teams across all regions - covering distribution and investment income - to forecast and interpret upcoming financial results.

· Review monthly and quarterly performance, identify trends, and support business reviews.

· Develop dashboards, heatmaps, and ad hoc analyses to monitor performance (e.g., growth KPIs, severity and frequency analyses).

· Coordinate forecasting and analysis of other financial matters, including taxes, non-operating results, and balance sheet movements.

· Help craft quarterly performance messaging for the MD&A and support Investor Relations.

· Collaborate with the Group CFO on quarterly earnings call preparation and Q&A.

· Prepare the CFO report and other financial materials for the Audit Committee and Board of Directors on a quarterly basis.

· Drive continuous improvement of the FP&A technology platform to enhance efficiency and insight over time.

Skills and experience:

· Finance, accounting, or actuarial background.

· Minimum 5 years of FP&A experience in the insurance sector.

· Strong understanding of accounting standards (IFRS).

· Demonstrated leadership experience.

· Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization, including senior management.

· Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

· Fast learner with agility and adaptability to change.

· Proven ability to multitask and collaborate in a team environment.

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and trends.

· Ideally based in Montreal; other locations may be considered.

· For candidates in Quebec, bilingualism is required due to frequent interaction with English-speaking colleagues across Canada.
