Salary range (but not limited to):
128,300 - 156,800Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.
About the role
- Lead business performance: Set direction and drive results across Accident Benefits to achieve goals related to customer experience, operational efficiency, file quality, engagement, and cost control.
- Provide people leadership: Lead, coach, and develop Unit Claims Managers and leaders; support performance management, succession planning, talent development, and a strong culture of accountability and inclusion.
- Drive operational excellence: Oversee workflows, capacity planning, and resource allocation to ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality claim handling across the region.
- Strengthen technical quality: Act as an escalation point for complex Accident Benefits matters; provide guidance on claim strategy, entitlement, indemnity decisions, reserves, and settlement approach in alignment with best practices and company guidelines.
- Deliver financial stewardship: Monitor and report on productivity, expense management, and financial outcomes; implement strategies to support cost containment and appropriate indemnity management.
- Enable change and continuous improvement: Lead change initiatives, process improvements, and technology adoption; identify opportunities to improve cycle times, quality, and the overall claims experience.
- Ensure governance and compliance: Promote consistent application of standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements; monitor audit outcomes and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Build partnerships: Maintain productive relationships with internal partners (e.g. underwriting, legal, SIU, finance) and external providers to support timely and effective claim resolution.
- Promote brand and values: Champion the organization’s customer-first approach, values, and business principles in all interactions.
- Proven leadership experience in a claims environment (experience leading leaders is a strong asset).
- Accident Benefits technical expertise and/or significant experience managing Accident Benefits operations is an asset.
- Strong ability to drive performance through metrics, coaching, and operational planning.
- Demonstrated change leadership capability, including supporting adoption of new processes, tools, and technology.
- Strong knowledge of claims best practices, quality management, and risk/compliance expectations.
- Excellent communication, influence, and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong decision-making, organization, and time-management skills; comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Post-secondary education preferred; CIP designation (or working toward) is an asset.
- Strong computer proficiency and comfort using claims systems and digital tools.
- High integrity, accountability, and a collaborative, people-first leadership style.
