About the role

We're looking for a Senior Specialist , Corporate Personal Lines to join our growing team!

What you’ll do here:

  • Provide back-up for technical underwriting support, approvals, and assistance to underwriters, agents and other staff on an ongoing basis, including supporting the development of training materials

  • Research, analyze and resolve various underwriting and technical issues associated with processing business or interpreting underwriting criteria

  • Collaborate with other departments, as needed, by providing underwriting input, direction and clear communication

  • Analyze available data to identify trends and propose underwriting actions to support profitable growth

  • Lead in the development and revision of underwriting manuals, product wording, rating and underwriting guidelines with a customer-driven approach using knowledge of the industry for automobile products

  • Oversee regional and national projects involving the revision of existing products and the development of new products and strategies to support our clients needs to achieve regional growth and profitability objectives

  • Identify coaching opportunities, and provide technical underwriting support, training and mentoring to internal and external business partners

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in underwriting

  • Strong knowledge of rating, products and coverage

  • Strong analytical skills through the use of diverse data tools and applications, such as Excel and Power BI

  • Proven capability to independently manage multiple projects, with an emphasis on leadership, execution, and delivery

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong ability to work with Microsoft Suites and Office applications

  • Knowledge of regional regulatory environments is a strong asset

  • CIP designation or actively pursuing designation is a definite asset

  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country.  

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
