About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Citrix Advisor to join our IT Service Delivery Deployment team. In this pivotal hybrid role, you will leverage your deep technical expertise in Citrix and assume comprehensive ownership of our Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) platform.
You will be instrumental in maintaining, evolving, and ensuring the stability of our virtual desktop delivery platform, which is crucial for delivering a seamless experience for end users across the organization. As a key player in our transformation journey towards advanced technical operations, you will drive innovative solutions, enhance automation, and foster operational excellence.
What you'll do here:
Ensure the optimal performance, security, and reliability of our Citrix environments
Administer the Citrix infrastructure (including Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix Cloud, PVS, FSLogix, WEM, StoreFront, and NetScaler).
Troubleshoot and resolve complex Level 3 Citrix issues to minimize downtime and ensure a seamless user experience.
Manage the deployment, patching, and administration of cloud-based resources, mainly in Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS, to enhance platform reliability and performance.
Monitor and enhance performance using advanced tools such as ControlUp and Director.
Lead deployments, configurations, and upgrades across the Citrix platform, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
Support backend and frontend VDI tasks related to Windows 11 virtual environments.
Collaborate closely with security, infrastructure, and innovation teams to drive forward-thinking technical initiatives.
Oversee the VDI platform lifecycle.
Improve our Citrix-based infrastructure to new levels of scalability and stability.
Lead monthly release cycles with precision, covering image creation and publishing (OS, App, Platform layers) and GPO updates.
Conduct proactive platform maintenance and health monitoring to anticipate and mitigate issues before they arise.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and implement innovative strategies to enhance platform scalability and stability.
Mentor junior VDI team members, guiding their development and facilitating the onboarding of new staff to bolster our team's expertise.
What you bring to the table:
10+ years of experience in Citrix environments, with at least 5 years in a senior role
Expertise in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix Cloud, PVS, FSLogix, WEM, NetScaler, and App Layering.
Experience in cloud technologies and services, specifically Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and AWS, including building, patching, and administration.
Strong proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, and GPOs.
Proven experience managing Windows 11 virtual desktop infrastructure in a large-scale environment.
Proficiency in scripting and automation strategies, particularly with PowerShell.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, taking ownership of platform performance and stability.
Excellent communication, leadership, and collaborative skills, with a proven track record of mentoring team members.
Citrix certifications such as CCA-V, CCP-V, or CCE-V is a plus
Experience with agile methodologies or relevant product management certifications.
Familiarity with ITIL practices and DevOps principles is a plus.
Experience using monitoring and performance optimization tools, such as ControlUp and Director.
A strong focus on innovation, with a history of proposing and implementing forward-thinking solutions.
For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country.
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
