Salary range (but not limited to):

128,300 - 156,800

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

15%

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

We're looking for a Claims Manager - Property Appraisal Team, to join our growing team!


What you'll do here:  

  • Lead a team of technical experts in the field of construction, estimate writing, and property loss emergency response, as well as teams that support the claims handling operation.

  • Analyze data and results to assess process efficiency.

  • Work closely with colleagues in supply chain management to maintain a feedback loop that keeps our teams and vendors mutually well informed.

  • Lead and coordinate the activities of the team to achieve profitability, efficiency and customer satisfaction objectives.

  • Problem-solve and innovate to drive continuous improvement of operational processes.

  • Participate in certain national committees.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of your business plan and implement the necessary structures to achieve the department's objectives.

  • Participate in the preparation of operating budgets.

  • Manage the performance of your team and support the Unit Managers in the implementation of development plans and recovery plans.

  • Be involved in the management of complaints that cannot be resolved by the Unit Managers.

  • Identify training needs and coordinate follow-through.

  • Actively participate in the claims department's response to weather disasters. 


What you bring to the table:

  • University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role

  • At least 5 to 10 years of team management experience 

  • Strong knowledge of personal and commercial lines and Property loss or liability insurance

  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge. Strong skills in MS Excel and Power BI report navigation is an asset.

  • Cares about people

  • Bilingual (French and English) is an asset.
