Salary range (but not limited to):

69,200 - 84,600

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

7.5%

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

We seeking a Claims Adjuster – Home II to join our field and/or telephone team.

As a Claims Adjuster, Field and/or Telephone, you’ll play a key role in our core mission: helping people. You’ll be part of an enthusiastic and diverse team of claims adjusters dedicated to supporting our customers get their lives back on track after unexpected events.

 

Your empathy and exceptional skills will make you a valuable asset to our team. We offer challenging and rewarding opportunities to investigate and manage complex personal and commercial property claims.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Evaluate and analyze information gathered, insurance wording and damages to determine coverage in each situation.

  • Assess potential civil liability of the insured and third parties in consultation with specialists.

  • Negotiate settlements with customers, claimants, lawyers and insurers within your authority limits.

  • Handle field assignments on behalf of in-house claims adjusters.

  • As needed, actively support claims management and other work during high-volume periods.

  • Collaborate effectively with various teams including appraisal, underwriting and legal services.

  • Ensure effective cost management.

  • Stay informed about current trends in insurance products and appraisal and investigation techniques and services.


What you bring to the table:

  • A valid AMF licence (5a/5b).

  • At least one year of experience as a home claims adjuster (telephone or field), with expertise in water and/or fire losses.

  • A passion for customer service and strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented approach and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Strong technical aptitude and excellent computer skills.

  • Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

  • A valid driver’s licence and a good driving record.

  • Availability for travel on short notice.

  • Solid understanding of insurance products.

  • Bilingualism (English/French): Required for regularly handling claims from English-speaking customers.
