About the role

We’re looking for a Bilingual Senior Business Advisor to join our growing team!

As a Senior Business Advisor your work will have a big impact on our National Specialty Lines verticals. People will count on you to work closely with business stakeholders to understand, analyze and document workflow processes and assist with preparing the business for upcoming changes. You will elicit detailed information and requirements from the business and work with your colleagues in the Business Practices Team and other partners to provide the most efficient solutions that will best serve the needs of the business and bring return on investment to the organization.

What you’ll do here:

  • Work closely with other members of the Business Practices team, including Learning & Development and Information Management, to support the business with changes that impact them.

  • Analyze business processes, design, or modify procedures to improve efficiency and obtain the desired project results.

  • Rely on your understanding of business processes and applicable systems, as well as industry knowledge.

  • Innovate through your contributions to improve efficiency

  • Expand your leadership skills through change management opportunities

You will also handle many key responsibilities:

  • Create, evaluate, and propose improvements for documentation, including business processes, user guides, test matrices, and system procedures. This will support user training and facilitate the seamless integration and deployment of new processes and technologies into existing operations.

  • Engage in and lead interviews, workshops, and process mapping sessions to assess business requirements, identify gaps, and uncover process inefficiencies, aiding in the implementation of necessary changes.

  • Leverage your expertise in process optimization and project management to drive strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and facilitating successful change management.

  • Develop close relationships/networks within Specialty Lines which will enable you to work efficiently and effectively.

What you bring to the table:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French – is required

  • Strong working knowledge of Commercial Lines or Specialty Lines insurance

  • Experience with leading projects

  • Post Secondary education in Management, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or Actuarial studies

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, PowerPoint & Excel – is required

  • Applied experience with process improvement – Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and use these to identify problems and root causes, anticipate unexpected results, and manage issues

  • Work effectively and cooperatively with others with experience using your negotiation skills to gain commitment from diverse stakeholders

  • No Canadian work experience required but must have authorization to work in Canada.
