About the role

Imagine multidisciplinary teams working together to continuously deliver a software platform at the heart of the operations of a big company. An application development and architecture team at the centre of the transformation of that platform. Envision yourself embracing this culture and taking on this challenge at an insurance company.

Located in downtown Montreal, we are an Agile team responsible for the personal line insurance policy management system, a platform at the heart of our company, used by thousands of our colleagues throughout Canada.

What does a Policy Administration Platform Application Architect do?

  • Have a holistic view of our systems and services.
  • Analyze and understand user requests.
  • Translate business needs into innovative solutions for the team.
  • Propose new opportunities or solutions to improve our architecture.
  • Document solutions using diagrams, charts, analyses, etc.
  • Participate in various team, collaboration and practice meetings. 
  • Collaborate with other teams to create and define solutions. 
  • Support development teams at all levels.
  • Ensure conformity with IFC norms and methods at all times.

What you bring to the table:

 

A bachelor’s degree in information technology/software engineering or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • At least 10 years of experience as a technical leader, with 5 years in an architecture role.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Agile/Scrum development in software engineering.
  • Knowledge of SOA (and SOAP/REST), Java, OpenShift, GitHub, Oracle, Security (OWASP standards), UML, Design Pattern.
  • Well organized, with a good sense of how to manage priorities. 
  • A very good communicator who is able to cope with stress.
  • Creative and curious, take initiative.
  • A team player, ready to contribute and receive feedback.
  • Excellent at making complex information accessible to various stakeholders.
  • Passionate and engaged.
  • A leader and mentor for your colleagues
  • Bilingual (French and English) - Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
