Intact Investment Management Inc. (IIM) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Intact Financial Corporation and a registered portfolio manager in Canada. From our Montreal and Saint-Hyacinthe offices, our multidisciplinary team manages over $30 billion in assets for institutional investors, including the assets and pension funds of Intact Financial Corporation and its subsidiaries.

At IIM, people are at the center of our priorities. We never compromise on our values of integrity and respect. We believe diversity is a strength and inclusion fuels better decisions. You’ll join a team of 80+ professionals known for dynamism, collaboration, and strong team spirit—working in a stimulating environment with real impact on investment outcomes.

Why This Role Matters

Accurate, well-governed market data is the backbone of investment decision-making, risk management, and reporting. As a Senior Analyst in Market Data and Governance, you will ensure our investment data is complete, consistent, and reliable across the lifecycle—from ingestion and validation to analytics, controls, and documentation. Your work will directly support portfolio management, performance, operations, compliance, and risk teams—improving our control environment and enabling confident, data-driven decisions.

What You’ll Do

  • Market Data Stewardship:

    • Participate, with the rest of the team, in validating, reconciling, and maintaining securities master, pricing, and analytics across asset classes

    • Investigate and resolve exceptions, breaks, and anomalies; document root causes and implement preventive controls

  • Analytics and Insight:

    • Conduct analyses to explain changes in market data and their downstream impact (NAV, performance, risk, Compliance)

    • Build and optimize data quality dashboards, KPIs, and workflows; create repeatable analytics to monitor data integrity

  • Controls and Governance:

    • Strengthen our data control framework (ownership, lineage, validation rules, approval workflows).

    • Contribute to policies, procedures, and documentation; support audits and compliance reviews.

  • Process Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks and streamline data pipelines.

    • Partner with Performance, Operations, IT, and Compliance to enhance data architecture and metadata management.

  • Collaboration and Support:

    • Serve as a key point of contact for data-related inquiries from investment teams and stakeholders.

    • Support derivatives administration, pricing validation, and reference data changes impacting portfolios.

What You’ll Work With

  • Data and tools: Excel (advanced), SQL, market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg), analytics/workflow tools, and enterprise data management systems.

  • Asset classes: Equities, fixed income, derivatives, and multi-asset strategies.

  • Partners: Performance, Operations, IT, Compliance, Risk, and Portfolio Management.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, Data/Math, or related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (CFA, FRM, Canadian Securities Institute courses) preferred or in progress.

  • Experience: 5–10 years in a similar role at an investment manager, private fund, wealth manager, or related financial institution; experience handling market/reference/pricing data strongly preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office; strong Excel and SQL; familiarity with market data providers and reporting platforms; experience with analytics or workflow tools is a plus.

  • Competencies: Analytical rigor, problem-solving, sound judgment, ownership, and clear communication with stakeholders; ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Mindset: Curious, detail-oriented, and passionate about financial markets and data quality.

  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.

What’s In It For You

  • Impact: Your work directly strengthens investment decisions, reporting accuracy, and risk controls across $30B+ in assets

  • Growth: Learn at your own pace with mentorship, training, and exposure to multiple teams

  • Work Environment: A collaborative, inclusive culture that values integrity and respect; modern downtown Montreal office with a hybrid model and a 35-hour work week.

  • Competitive Package: Comprehensive benefits, retirement plans, wellness programs, paid time off, and support for professional development and certifications.
