Salary range (but not limited to):

69,200 - 84,600

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

7.5%

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

We’re looking for Accident Benefits Adjusters to join our growing team!

Please note an increased in-office presence will be required for the first 6 months of employment to ensure proper development and growth in this role.

What you'll do here:                                                   

  • Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and evaluate entitlements that are fair and equitable

  • Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with customers, claimants, lawyers and insurers to settle claims and report findings and settlements

  • Conduct investigations and obtain additional information such as medical examinations, customer medical or employment history as required to clarify and/or justify a claim

  • Ensure all cases are clearly documented and comply with legislative requirements

  • Identify process improvement needs and recommend changes to policies or procedures to improve quality service and competitiveness


What you bring to the table:     

  • Post-secondary education in a health-related field or have worked in a medical setting and are proficient in understanding medical terminology

  • Previous claims adjusting experience'

  • Experience handling Accident Benefits claims is an asset

  • Working toward the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset

  • Have a strong ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Approach each claim with a collaborative mindset which focusses on the needs of the customer and respects the parameters of the policy wording

  • A skilled verbal and written communicator, enabling you to foster strong business relationships

  • Compassionately listen to the customer, lead the conversation to gather and accurately document all required information, and efficiently evaluate the situation to make thoughtful, timely decisions

  • Demonstrated passion for investigation and root-cause analysis, enabling you to spot red flags and identify effective solutions while adhering to policy parameters

  • Go above and beyond for our customers and your colleagues because you truly want to make a difference

  • Exhibit strong desk management and organizational skills

  • Strong desire for personal growth and continuous learning
